Plague - Michael Grant
Reading Challenge Category: Modern Mrs Darcy Reading Challenge - Three books by the same author
It's been eight months since all the adults disappeared. Gone. They've survived hunger. They've survived lies. But the stakes keep rising, and the dystopian horror keeps building in Plague, Michael Grant's fourth book in the New York Times bestselling Gone series. A highly contagious fatal illness is spreading at an alarming rate, while sinister, predatory insects terrorize Perdido Beach. Sam, Astrid, Diana, and Caine are plagued by a growing doubt that they'll escape—or even survive—life in the FAYZ. With so much turmoil surrounding them, what desperate choices will they make when it comes to saving themselves and those they love?
These books keep getting scarier and even more crazy! All the children are in so much danger in this book; I honestly didn’t know who would survive or how it was going to end. It didn’t feel like book four out of six. It felt like the whole story was going to come crashing down and end, but I knew this was nowhere near finished, not yet! The next book is called ‘Fear’, but I really don’t know how much more can be thrown at these kids for them to overcome. My heart was in my mouth for the majority of this book! It is sometimes easy to forget that all of these children are 15 and are coping with these atrocities! The writing of these books is superior and superb, I literally fly through reading them, and it doesn’t feel like a 500+ page book! I’m rationing myself to one of these books a month so that I can savour them and enjoy them and not just hurtle through them, so hears to keeping my anticipation alive for a month! Whereas, all I really want to do is start it now!
