I See You - Clare MacKintosh
Reading Challenge Category: I fancied a good twist so hoping she delivers
When Zoe Walker sees her photo in the classifieds section of a London newspaper, she is determined to find out why it's there. There's no explanation: just a grainy image, a website address and a phone number. She takes it home to her family, who are convinced it's just someone who looks like Zoe. But the next day the advert shows a photo of a different woman, and another the day after that. Is it a mistake? A coincidence? Or is someone keeping track of every move they make . . .
Well, this was a little bit spine-tingling! Clare MacKintosh certainly delivered a good twist for me. I thought I’d figured out the bad guy and was even high fiving myself when it looked like I was right and then boom nope I was sideswiped! And THEN at the very end, I was shocked again as the most significant twist happens on the very last page. Flippin’ brilliant, definitely recommend (which I have been doing to everyone I know!) and I can’t wait to read the final book of hers that I have left to read. What I have found interesting since I have read the book is finding out that Clare spent twelve years on the police force. This means the information and how the case in this book would have been handled would be accurate. This accuracy is essential to me as it means you are getting a genuine and full reading experience, albeit in a made-up world.
