My Thoughts:

Diving into "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" by J.K. Rowling, I found the experience to be a unique blend of familiarity and deviation from the film adaptation. Despite the considerable gap since my last read, the cinematic impressions left me occasionally feeling that something was amiss in the narrative. It's quite a crazy feeling as the book is correct and not the other way around, but I still found myself screaming internally, "That's not how it happened," as the vivid memories of the film clash with the written words.
Opting for the audiobook narrated by the exceptional Stephen Fry, the extended 16-day journey through the intricate plot emphasised the book's substantial length. Fry's masterful narration added a captivating layer to the magical world crafted by Rowling, making the experience thoroughly enjoyable, albeit occasionally "weird" due to my ingrained memories from the film.
Looking ahead, the prospect of delving into an even lengthier book in the series brings a mix of excitement and challenge. Despite the discrepancies introduced by the film adaptation, my commitment to the enchanting narrative remains steadfast. Overall, immersing myself in "The Goblet of Fire" has reignited my genuine love for the series, offering a delightful yet occasionally disconcerting revisit to the wizarding world.
