BEFOE YOU READ THIS BOOK
I WANT YOU TO KNOW THREE THINGS:
1. The police are looking to charge me with murder.
2. No one knows who I am. Or how I did it.
3. If you think you've found me. I'm coming for you next.
After you've read this book, you'll know: the truth is far more twisted...

My Thoughts:

Approaching "Twisted" by Steve Cavanagh without any preconceived notions proved to be both a blessing and a slight hindrance. Initially, it took me a moment to fully connect with the story and its characters, but once the twists and turns commenced, I found myself captivated, unable to tear my eyes away from the pages. Cavanagh's skilful delivery of revelations, gradually unveiling the bigger picture, made for an exhilarating reading experience.
At the outset, I must admit that I felt a tad detached from the narrative. The story took its time to establish a strong connection with the characters, leaving me yearning for a more immediate sense of engagement. However, as the layers of the plot started to unravel, my initial reservations were overshadowed by the sheer intrigue and suspense that enveloped the story.
Cavanagh's storytelling technique shines as he deftly reveals tidbits of information along the way, allowing the puzzle pieces to fall into place gradually. This method had me eagerly turning each page, hungry for more revelations and eager to uncover the truth lurking beneath the surface. The author's ability to keep readers on their toes, never quite sure of what to expect, is commendable.
That being said, there were moments where the intricacies of the plot left me momentarily confused. The sudden revelations required me to pause and assimilate the new information, ensuring I fully grasped the intricacies of what I was being told. While these moments added to the complexity and unpredictability of the story, they occasionally disrupted the flow, necessitating a momentary pause to process the twists before moving forward.
In its entirety, "Twisted" delivers an enthralling reading experience, gradually enveloping readers in its web of surprises and unforeseen turns. While it took a beat for me to feel connected to the narrative, the gripping revelations and the puzzle falling into place made it impossible to put the book down. Cavanagh's masterful storytelling leaves readers craving more, eagerly anticipating his next standalone novel set to release next month.
