Reading Challenge Category: Free ARC from NetGalley
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something untrue… Edie has enough on her plate keeping her tyrannical boss happy at Moira’s Wedding Shop. So when society bride Tia begs Edie to design her wedding dress – and keep it a secret from the domineering mother-in-law to be – Edie reluctantly says ‘I will’ to making Tia’s dream come true. If her deception is found out, though, it would mean losing her job… Meanwhile best man James has his eye on Edie and he’s proving ever harder for her to resist. James is upper-crust and Edie’s one unexpected bill away from the breadline – they’re from completely different worlds and there’s no way it can ever work between them… right?
Oh, I do so love visiting Tanglewood. I wish it really existed as I would love to live there! Anyway, I do believe this is the best book in the series so far. It was absolutely perfect. It had the perfect balance of a slow burn romance, with some angst and drama thrown in. In this instalment, we are following Edie, a single mother seamstress who is as content with her lot. She believes this is all she’s capable of being at this juncture of her life. However, things are suddenly going to be turned upside down when she goes along to a wedding dress consultation and meets Tia and James. She suddenly finds herself outside of her comfort zone, but happier than she ever believed would be possible. There are, of course, some bumps in the road that she must overcome before she can really and truly be happy and get everything she deserves. However, these bumps are perfectly placed within the story. They challenge the character, yet don’t overwhelm her or leave us the reader feeling as if we have been taken down the wrong route. The characters were so likeable; I even liked Danny (and I’m not a big fan of kids). I thought he had the right amount of cuteness but also kidness about him. It was great to see the developments of the characters we had gotten to know in the previous two books, too. Overall, this was a light, bright and enchanting book and a perfect addition to the series. I do hope there are more to come and I don’t have to wait too long!
