Something Borrowed - Tracy Lorraine

I told myself it was just the thrill of the chase. That what I felt for her wasn’t real. She was my best friend’s little sister. She was off limits. Yet, the temptation was too much and I betrayed the only promise I’d ever made to her brother. I touched her. I fell for her. And then I left her. Now I’m standing at the altar as his best man ten years later, waiting for her to walk towards me. All I’ve got to do is prove to both her and my best friend that I’m worthy of her. If I get my way, the next time she walks down an aisle to me, she’ll be in a white dress. It should be simple…the maid of honor and the best man are meant to hook up, right?
I love a good wedding story, so I am really excited by the latest Flirt Club collaboration as it’s Wedding Season! This, as is always the case for Tracy Lorraine’s books, was the perfect start to this collaboration. The story is really well-developed, and we really feel what the characters are feeling. There is a backstory, current events and a future with a Happy Ever After. I love that Bryony is a wedding planner, what an amazing job! Tessa is the typical manifestation of what you imagine a bride to be in the run-up to her wedding, but none of this fazes Bryony. The only thing stopping her in her tracks and ruffling her feathers is seeing Freddie again! The only thing I would have liked was a little more of an explanation as to why Freddie left all those years ago. There was the perfect opportunity for a paragraph on this when Vaughan asks Bryony, but it is just glossed over. All we know is he left, and they haven’t seen each other for ten years. I loved the ending to this one, it was a little different, and you really feel you are being swept along with Byrony and Freddie’s happiness. I kept thinking the whole way through I hope we are going to get Vaughan’s story, as it seems like she has something to tell. So I was pleasantly surprised when reading the author’s note at the end to see that her book will be the next one!
