Sure, he's smoking hot... but stand too close to that flame and you'll get burned.
Tyler Jackson isn't looking for romance, but he certainly wants to see what this Jess woman might have to offer once he separates her from her clothes. While it seems impossible that they could duplicate the intensity of their scorching hot initial rendezvous, Ty soon learns it's equally intense every time they're naked together. And by then it's too late, because his heart has become involved.
Jess Hensen is smitten by the insanely sexy firefighter who's just risked his life to save an entire litter of kittens. Is it his looks or his bravery that's so enticing? Or could it be that vague sense that she's seen him somewhere before? When she learns of his dark, dangerous past, will she be too taken with him to walk away like common sense says she should? Or will Jess risk everything to stay by Ty's side?

My Thoughts:

Ah, I really liked this; it was a good old-fashioned meet and feel instantly attracted to one another story. There have been too many ‘bad boy’ books in this genre lately. Don’t get me wrong, I like a bad boy as much as the next woman, but when they are downright nasty, and you can’t understand why they are even sleeping together because they profess to hate one another, then that is where I’ve started drawing the line.
This book, however, is the total opposite of that, and it was a refreshing change. Jess and Ty meet when the animal sanctuary she works at is on fire, and he comes to the rescue as a fireman. It was hot and steamy from the moment they set eyes on one another!
The happy ever after seemed to come too soon, though, so I just knew there was going to be some major drama that they would have to overcome. I just didn’t expect it to be what it was. The whole story was very well played out.
I liked the tentativeness between them while they were trying to sort out their feelings for one another after the drama. The chemistry from them, though, was jumping off the page, so you knew you were going to get the happy ever after you were craving.
Great ending, too, not too cliched. So, overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this, and it was a solid five-star read!
