Resolution: Bad Girl - Angel Devlin
Reading Challenge Category: Free from Kindle Unlimited
I'm tired of being a good girl. My love life is non-existent and now my best friend wants to set me up with a nice guy. I want a man to push me against the wall with unbridled lust, not tell me stories about fluffy kittens. Then the message comes from my old sorority president “Remember, ladies. Do it. Whatever it is you want to do. Wherever you have wanted to go. Whatever you want to try, to taste, to feel, to live... do it. This is our year.” It’s New Years eve, the night is young, and so am I. It’s time to let my hair down. This girl is going bad and she needs a bad boy to see the New Year in with. And there’s one at the bar… It’s the New Year! Time to ring your bell with some hot and hunky resolutions! Join fifteen of your favorite romance authors as their stories get off… on the right foot this year. Champagne corks aren’t the only things popping!
I’m afraid this story was a bit cheesy and obvious. Surely a ‘real’ bad girl wouldn’t need to think about how to be one she’d just be? Seemed a bit tame for bad girlness! I understand she wasn’t really a bad girl and playing a part; it just didn’t sit right that this is what she wanted and was aspiring to be. The story jarred somewhat. I suddenly realised the coffee shop is one that’s been mentioned in later books! It was only when Ella and Jodi were mentioned that I had a slap around the face realisation! I hadn't realised in the ‘Santa’s Christmas Cracker’ story!I’d always wondered about the coffee shop girls and where their stories were! I liked the little twist at the end, although I had guessed who Thomas was. I would have liked the blind date to have gone ahead rather than the way it did end, but it wasn’t too unpalatable. Overall, not a bad read, I just think the story could have been a little more thought out, however for a 34-page short story not bad.
