My Thoughts:

Wow, this hits you in the feels, keeps hitting, and then makes you laugh! This was the epitome of a Shari Low book and exactly why you pick her books up. You know you will be taken on the biggest rollercoaster of emotions.
This is one of the books that is split into time sections and follows four characters during those periods. We have Tress, a heavily pregnant lady whose husband has gone on a work trip for the day, and she finds herself in labour all alone.
Nancy, an older lady in her twilight years coming to terms with the loss of her husband and facing the concept of having to carry on with her life. Should she make new memories or just put her pyjamas on and stay home?
Noah is the best friend of Tress’ husband, Max. He is having marital problems, and a quick investigation on the morning his wife has gone on a business trip sets the scene for the worst day of his life.
Finally, we have Max, Tress’ husband and Noah’s best friend. Whilst not being where he is supposed to be, he gets a message from Tress that will change everyone’s lives!
How this book flowed and came together was just magical. You feel like you are there with the characters, experiencing what they are feeling and are totally caught up in their world.
The only ever so slight downer on the book for me was Val. I’m not a big fan of hers. She has been in quite a few of Shari Low’s books, and the last one I read with her in it, she drove me insane with her pushiness that I don’t think I’ve quite forgiven her. In this book, I felt like she overshadowed Nancy a little, and it felt like Nancy was just a replacement for Josie, that we lost a while back. I would have preferred Nancy to have a different friend and Val not to have been a part of this story. Let Nancy be her own person and not a replacement friend for Val.
However, this did not ruin the book for me; it was just a tiny gripe. Overall, the book was superb and the perfect book to start the year with!
