Official Blurb:
Can sisterly duty lead to a happily ever after? Rachel Curtis is the quietest of the four Curtis sisters, and that often means she’s the one left out, the invisible one. So when Sienna begs her to cover at a wedding–doesn’t she remember the last time!?–she does her sisterly duty and helps out. Surely nothing could happen this time… Steven Walker has trusted his gut when it comes to his business dealings and it's paid off–the most requested merger and acquisitions company. But tonight he’s at a wedding in a small town. Surely it’s some cruel joke about relaxing by his personal assistant. All might not be lost though … Who is she? She doesn’t belong here; she belongs with him. One moment of time, etched in their minds forever. Can they find their way back to each other and if they do, can he get her to trust her gut and take a chance on what could be a happily ever after?
My Thoughts:
This is the third in the Baxter Valley series but can be read as a standalone. I’ve read the first two books, but I didn’t think there was an overload of information on previous characters that would make you feel as if you’d missed out if you haven’t. In this instalment, we are following Rachel, the quiet and shy one of the family. She is quite content with her numbers and romance novels, thinking she doesn’t stand a chance at that level of love because of her insecurities. However, all this is about to change with a chance encounter of a knight in shining armour who comes to her rescue, Steven. This is a fast-paced love story, and even though it is only 60 pages long, you do feel like you are getting enough time with the characters. The attraction between Rachel and Steven was of fairytale levels. He sweeps her off her feet, and she really does get the happy ever after. As with the previous two books, we get two epilogues. Once again, I’m not sure the ten years later one is completely necessary, especially as we continue to revisit this world and the siblings to find out what they are up to. Overall, an enjoyable quick read that left me smiling and feeling good.
