Into the Water - Paula Hawkins
Reading Challenge Category: a number one bestseller
Official Book Blurb:
In the last days before her death, Nel called her sister. Jules didn’t pick up the phone, ignoring her plea for help. Now Nel is dead. They say she jumped. And Jules has been dragged back to the one place she hoped she had escaped for good, to care for the teenage girl her sister left behind. But Jules is afraid. So afraid. Of her long-buried memories, of the old Mill House, of knowing that Nel would never have jumped. And most of all she’s afraid of the water, and the place they call the Drowning Pool . . .
My Thoughts:
This really kept you guessing all the way through. It had the same kind of feel to it that the Girl On The Train film did (I’ve not read the book, only watched the film). Very strange to begin with as you are reading from many people’s different points of view, so it is quite hard to keep up and remember who everyone is but you soon do. It’s very cleverly written and really nice how the story slowly unfolds piece by piece and you only truly know what happens on the very last page. Had me gripped and another book that kept me awake until 2 am because I wanted to know how it ended. I just wish the author had written more books for me to read!
