My Thoughts:

By far the best in the series so far, Dead Souls truly captivated me from start to finish. Angela Marsons has outdone herself with this instalment, offering a fresh and exciting formula that sets it apart from the previous books.
This time, Kim Stone is pulled away from her usual team and forced to collaborate with her nemesis, Travis. We've encountered Travis briefly in earlier books, but seeing him work closely with Kim added a new layer of tension and intrigue. Meanwhile, her team is left to investigate a disturbing series of hate crimes while Kim delves into a case involving recently discovered bones.
The intricacy of the writing and the complexity of the plot line in this book are exceptional. Marsons weaves the dual investigations seamlessly, keeping the reader engrossed with each twist and turn. The narrative's depth is matched by the well-developed characters, who continue to grow in fascinating ways.
What I found particularly brilliant was the ending. It was action-packed and thrilling, and unlike previous books where Kim often has an almost instinctive epiphany, this time, the solution evolved naturally. Each piece of the puzzle fell into place gradually, making the resolution feel earned and satisfying.
Dead Souls is a brilliant story that stands out in an already impressive series. I am eagerly anticipating what comes next, as these books just keep getting better and better.
