Official Blurb:

My bed is soft at night, now. The air in my room is fresh, and I always leave the door open so that the air remains like that. I don’t often open the window, just every now and then.
For those who don't know, AIDEN'S STORY is a short story about Aiden from SILENT CHILD. It's about the time period directly after SILENT CHILD ends, where Aiden tries to make sense of what happened to him in the bunker.

My Thoughts:

I received this free short story from the author. It is a follow-on to ‘The Silent Child’ book and gives us an insight into how Aiden is coping out of the bunker. We didn’t really get his thoughts and feelings in the original text, so this is a nice little added extra.
I read ‘The Silent Child’ over 18 months ago, so I did have a little trouble remembering everything that had happened. Luckily this story, even though short, does recap a few things. I still struggled to remember Jake’s part in things and what he had done, though.
Despite not remembering everything I did remember Aiden and his time in the bunker, so it was really great to find out how he was feeling and for his side of everything that had happened. It was very well written, just as you would expect from Sarah A. Denzil and it didn’t feel rushed.
I think it was the perfect length, nothing needed to be belaboured, but we got just enough to satisfy us. Overall, a great little addition to the story and I’m glad I found time to read this (and didn’t leave it any longer to risk forgetting the story altogether!)
