1116 Miracle Way - Tracy Lorraine

Reading Challenge Category: Book from Amazon Kindle Unlimited

Official Blurb:

She was the popular one all the boys fantasized about. I was just the boy from the wrong side of the tracks.
Nothing has changed, only now she’s the other side of the counter in the bakery I’m addicted to.
It’s not just those festive fancies that keep me coming back for more.
Every day I watch her from a distance. I recognize the darkness lingering in her eyes that looks so similar to my own.
I’m unable to resist trying to unearth the bubbly girl I remember so well. But as I get to know her I discover she has the power to unlock something inside of me.
Hope.
I was taught to believe miracles exist.
Could she be mine?

My Thoughts:

I’d really enjoyed Tracy Lorraine’s other contribution to the Cherry Falls series, so I couldn’t wait to get this one read also. It didn’t quite have the same magic and passion that 810 Destiny Drive had, but it was still a good book in its own right.
This was a lot more grown-up than the previous one as Casey and Cody aren’t teenagers; they have also had to deal with a lot of grief in their lives. This gave the book a much darker feel to it. Although Casey refers to Codey as ‘bad boy’, other than how he dressed, nothing about him indicated that he was a bad boy, which I personally was grateful for as it made their love story so much sweeter. If he had been a bad boy, I was worried that Lorraine would take the story down the hate-sex route, but I’m glad she stayed clear of this and just gave them a lovely story.
The story itself was very well-rounded, and you really felt like you were getting to know the characters. I didn’t quite feel the chemistry between them, but it was still a lovely love story all the same.
