Tripwire (Jack Reacher Book 3) - Lee Childs

Reading Challenge Category: A book recommended to you

Official Book Blurb:

For Jack Reacher being invisible has become a habit.
He spends his days digging swimming pools by hand and his nights as the bouncer in the local strip club in the Florida Keys.
He doesn't want to be found.
But someone has sent a private detective to seek him out. Then Reacher finds the guy beaten to death with his fingertips sliced off. It's time to head north and work out who is trying to find him and why.

My Thoughts:

I’m not sure why I keep persevering with the Jack Reacher books, it must be because everyone keeps going on about how great they are, even my female friends!
The first book was ok but the second book was awful, so I think I thought I’d wash the taste of the second one away with the third!
I was very pleased that the third was much better, my husband had assured me it would be, and it may have been grounds for divorce if it hadn’t have been at this point. Especially as it is mainly his fault, I am reading them in the first place.
The storyline was more gripping, so I wanted to keep reading, and I did feel a little scared at what was going to happen like someone could jump out and kill them at any second. I know from what my husband has told me that they aren’t written in a straightforward timeline so book 3 isn’t necessarily early on in his life and could be the end so in theory he could be killed. Just because there are 20+ more books that he is going to be in these could be based before book three happens in the timeline, therefore keeping the suspense alive!
The book was, also, better written than the first it wasn’t as ‘hick’ (sorry that’s the best word I can find to describe the first book). It was a much easier read.
So maybe, just maybe, I’m not making any promises I might give another one a read later on in the year. We shall see.
