The Ransome Brothers - Rachel Schurig
Reading Challenge Category: Free ARC Book from Author
Official Book Blurb:
Ever since his wife left him to raise their four boys on his own, Will Ransome has had one purpose—do whatever it takes to give them the life they deserve. Now that they’ve finally made it, now that Ransom is the most successful rock band in the country, Will should finally be able to relax, take time for himself, maybe even find love again. But nothing is turning out the way it should. His boys aren’t talking to him, refuse to even see him. All of the success in the world can’t fill the hole they’ve left in his life. And Will has no one to blame but himself.
I started reading Rachel’s books a while back (I started with the three girls trilogy), and it was the first time ever I felt compelled to write to an author to tell her how amazing her books were. I have read all of her books since and have become an ARC reader for her. When I started reading this latest instalment, I didn’t think it would be possible for her to blow me away any more than she had done that first time I discovered her. However, with this book, she has taken her writing to a new level. It is more sophisticated and refined. She has really honed the Ransome brother’s story and brought it together in the sixth book of their story. It is an accumulation of all of their thoughts, and each chapter is from a different perspective, even the girlfriends get a look in. It is so lovely, also to get to know the dad on a different level other than the workaholic tyrant that he has been made out to be in the past. This was definitely my favourite book in the series as it isn’t just one of the boys meeting a girl and falling in love. It is all of their stories coming together as one and coping with the fallout from the events of the last book that affected Lennon but in turn them all. If you have read the other Ransom books or any of Rachel’s books I highly recommend this one also!
