Official Blurb:

Trapped by an avalanche with San Francisco’s most eligible bachelor would seem like a chemistry packed holiday, but I’m a one-date wonder. There’s no way we’ll ever fall for one another.
Clay McGrath is a doctor, a distinguished veteran, and he saved my life.
As San Francisco’s most eligible bachelor, women know no boundaries and the texts, photos, and visits are unrelenting.
I know why. His rock-hard abs, sapphire blue eyes, and those dimples melt my unmentionables right off.
He’s saved countless lives, but he’s captured my heart and he may not be there to catch me when I fall.
Anna Standing is fiercely independent, with a mouth made for sin.
Her long legs, infectious smile, and she's smart as a whip all intimidate men.
After all, she doesn’t need our money, our help, or our bodies.
But she needs me. She just doesn’t know it.
Her world is imploding and she’s in danger and I’m the only one who’s able to save her.

My Thoughts:

I found this quite hard to get through, even though I did like the characters and the main story. I felt like it dragged a little, and we didn’t get through the story quickly enough.
Every time the avalanche was referenced throughout the book, it felt like that was a different book I’d read, as it seemed so long ago that that happened. It kept shocking me that it was still the same book. It didn’t take me a particularly long to read the book; it just felt like a long time.
I really liked the characters; however, I didn’t like the change in Anna’s personality halfway through. She went into the dalliance with Clay knowing full well he just wanted fun and nothing serious. However, she makes a big deal out of the phone calls and texts he gets acting very jealous and possessive when they haven’t even defined their relationship at this point. He also makes it clear that they are bothering him just as much, but she chooses to make him the bad guy over it. She certainly made a mountain out of a molehill. It just didn’t sit well with the fiercely independent character we were initially introduced to.
I liked Clay’s development, though. He went from a commitment-phobe to full-on in with Anna. His character was better developed than Anna’s.
Overall I did enjoy the book; I just felt it went on a bit too much. So much needed to be wrapped up, but the middle just plodded on with many of the same things happening.
So to the best in this series but still a good read.
