A smoldering night of passion gets complicated in the cold light of day… Sienna Curtis has worked tirelessly to make Baxter Valley the number one wedding destination. She’s never had time for love, but now planning her sister’s wedding, she feels something is missing. Once the hottest TV chef with women crawling all over him just to get ahead, Tom Hawthorne’s spent the past several years purposely avoiding the spotlight at whatever the cost. An impromptu dinner date, a deeper connection than they both thought possible, and one night of steamy hot passion threatens to unravel them both… With lies and misunderstandings forcing them apart, can a wedding under threat right all the wrongs and put these two back on the path to love?
This was a really fun, short, fast read. For only 58 pages, a real full-blown story is fit in, and it is done perfectly. We really feel as if we are getting to know Sienna and Tom. We find out what they enjoy and what makes them tick, and this makes it easy for us the reader to really root for their happy ever after. The book was light-hearted and easy to read. You could tell it was part of a series as the characters all had a familiarity with one another, but this didn’t hinder reading this as a one-off either. I enjoyed this book as a stand-alone, but I’m not sure I’m inclined to read about any of the other characters. I enjoyed this one for what it was. The ending was slightly rushed, and I’m not sure the second epilogue was needed. I’d rather those words and pages had been utilised better to round out the actual ending for Sienna and Tom. I don’t think we needed to see two months later and then ten years later. It didn’t really add anything to the story. Overall, though, an enjoyable read that you will get through in no time but feel as if you have read a full-blown book at the same time.
