Lies - Michael Grant
Reading Challenge Category: A book in a series you’ve been reading
It happens in one night: a girl who died now walks among the living, Zil and the Human Crew set fire to Perdido Beach, and amid the flames and smoke, Sam sees the figure of the boy he fears the most. As life in the FAYZ becomes more desperate, no one knows who they can trust.
I’m thoroughly enjoying these books. This book was on par with the first; it had a lot of fighting between the children and not so much about them having to cope to survive. We get introduced to the darkness’ avatar in this book and more of a glimpse at Little Pete’s powers which really develops the story deeper. The book is still terrifying, and you don’t know what is going to happen next, or who will turn on who! So this keeps you reading and turning the page, devouring what is happening to the kids stuck in Perdido Beach. I’m always a bit weary when I have to start a huge book as you never know how long it is going to take you to read, but this book flew by. It didn’t feel like almost 500 pages, and I kept checking that I hadn’t skipped ahead as I was finishing it so fast! I can’t wait to start book four!
