I am Missing - Tim Weaver
Reading Challenge Category: Eighth book in a series that I wanted to go back and start
Official Blurb:
My name is Richard. I am missing. Who is Richard Kite? Why does no one know him? And what links him to the body of a woman found beside a London railway line two years ago? Could Richard be responsible - or is he next?
My Thoughts:
"I Am Missing" by Tim Weaver offers a refreshing twist to the typical remote island setting, distinguishing itself from other books with a similar setting that I have read recently. While not entirely centred on an island, the inclusion of this element added a unique flavour to the narrative. The progression of the series is palpable, and Weaver continues to elevate the storytelling with each instalment. The evolution of David Raker's character is particularly notable, and as a reader, I find myself increasingly drawn into his world. The plot of "I Am Missing" is undeniably gripping, weaving a tale that kept me eagerly turning the pages. The element of mystery is expertly crafted, and the inclusion of a remote island, though not the primary focus, adds a layer of intrigue to the overall narrative. As a devoted follower of the David Raker series, I appreciate the consistent improvement in the stories. The anticipation for each new development in Raker's journey is heightened, making the reading experience immensely satisfying. However, the bittersweet reality is that with only one unread book left in the series, I find myself on the brink of having to patiently await new material. In summary, "I Am Missing" is another triumph in the David Raker series, delivering a gripping narrative with a unique twist. Tim Weaver's ability to keep the series fresh and engaging speaks to his storytelling prowess. As I approach the last unread book in the series, I can't help but hope for more captivating adventures with David Raker in the future.
