I love to hate him. He hates me right back. Suki Scott Sullivan is the epitome of a turn off with his bad boy attitude and player ways. But his games won’t work with me. I’d have run a mile already if we didn’t have to work together. But everything changes when a surprise package arrives for him and he’s forced to alter his lifestyle in the blink of an eye. I soon discover that his man-whore ways are just a cover because underneath the mask is a beautifully broken man craving a connection. Now I find myself helping him with his unexpected arrival, but am I falling for the man I’ve always loathed. They say there’s a fine line… Am I about to cross it? Scott I thought she was a bitch. But now she’s showing me a side of her I’ve never seen before. Helpful. Caring. And despite the fact there is no love lost between us, right now, when my world just imploded, I need her. Suddenly I’m a father, and I don’t know what the hell to do. So when Suki steps in to help show me the way, I let her. The trouble is as I get used to the new baby girl in my life, I also get used to having Suki around. Now am I falling for the woman I’ve always detested?
I think I said it in my review for the last book in the series, but Tracy and Angel have completely blown me away with the variety and uniqueness of the storylines for this series of books. None of them has been the same; they have been completely extraordinary and remarkable in their own right. They have each had their own bit of spice while still interweaving the characters within them. They have been truly magical. We have seen Scott in the periphery of most of the books since the first book came out last year. He has been an intriguing character, and I just knew he was going to be trouble. He certainly gets brought down to earth with a bump and fast in his own story though. I couldn’t believe how quickly his world of fast women and the bachelor lifestyle came crashing down. There were no nine months to get used to his new situation, not even nine minutes. Suki was more mellow than I was expecting her to be. I remember her being a lot more spunky in the first book. Also, the banter between her and Scott had was tempered a little too quickly for my liking. I would have liked a little bit more wit and sarcasm to keep the fire going for a little longer. It was lovely, though, that he had someone he could rely on and her background did explain her 180 to helping him out. This was such a great read; I’m not sure I could have adapted to a surprise like Doe the way Scott did. Although, if I had a surprise like that it would be a bit of a miracle me being the female in the equation and all! There would still be a Helen shaped hole in a door, though! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series of Daddy books, and I’m glad Angel kept her promise to me at the beginning, and there were no ‘call me Daddy’ references, phew! I’m really looking forward to what this pair of very talented authors are bringing us next. I do believe we had a sneak peek at a character featuring in their next set of books in this one, Deacon?
