His Baby’s Breath - Olivia Hawthorne

Official Blurb:

Isla Baker: Small town kindergarten teacher meets Hollywood super star.
That’s not the kind of headline I’d ever expect to read, especially about my own life.
But a chance meeting at a hotel with Noah Forte, America’s favorite super hero, leads to a night of passion.
One and done, was how I planned it. Just one crazy night outside of my boring routine and then back to my regular life.
But life is more than a headline, after all.
And sometimes life takes you in directions you never imagined in your wildest dreams.

My Thoughts:

This is the last of the May Flower books that I had left to read. I’m not sure where the flowers side of things came into this book as it didn’t really fit into this collaboration the same way the others had. No one was named after a flower or given baby breath flowers.
This aside, it was a really enjoyable story. I liked how sassy Isla was and how she managed to stay so cool, calm and collected when she first encounters Noah. She is a big fan, but she remains aloof and doesn’t resort to being a squealing fan.
The story between them seemed very believable, and I was smacking my head when she dropped her phone. How frustrating as it would be then impossible to get in touch with him without his number. Isla’s sister Becca was a little over the top. I can’t imagine anyone being that bad in real life, and I just wanted to bring her down a peg or two, she was unbearable. However, this gave the book some depth. It wasn’t only two people hooking up there was lots of detail and periphery stories going on.
Overall, a really pleasant and delightful read.
