Official Blurb:

It’s been ten years.
He hasn’t stopped loving her for one second.
Seeing the woman who broke my heart a decade ago is something I’m not prepared for. Though I’ve forgiven Savannah, I’ve never forgotten what she did.
Now it’s time to confront the secret she’s kept from me. Though it won’t be easy, I’m determined to make things right between us.
One night together is all it takes for our feelings to come rushing back. As memories of us flood in, truths are finally revealed. When the present collides with our past, I’ll do anything to win her back, even when Savannah tries to run again.
This time, I’ll stop at nothing for a second chance.

My Thoughts:

I got this free absolutely ages ago; I have no idea how or why, but it has been sat on my Kindle for the whole year. I needed a quick, easy-going, light read for my free books reading challenge. This fits that category perfectly. It is only 148 pages long but the perfect length. Nothing feels rushed, and you are given a full and heartwarming story.
We meet Savannah when she is back in her hometown for a friend’s wedding. She is nervous as this will be the first time that she will be seeing her ex, Hayden. They split up ten years ago but are they truly over one another? We get plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, shocking revelations, misunderstandings and steamy fumblings. It is the perfect recipe for a happy ever after story.
The characters were all likeable and well developed. We get the full story of what happened; no-one does a 180 without an explanation. We even get an insight into the periphery characters, setting up their story for future books (I did look up the second book in the series, this was free too, but I will have to wait until next year to read this, unfortunately!)
The only niggle I had with the book was that the beginning was quite hard to get into. It had lots of references to many characters that we hadn’t gotten to know yet, in-jokes between the characters and I think there were some pop culture references that I just didn’t follow. I’m used to reading American books, but I certainly felt the language difference, and this book felt very American. It really made me feel foreign. This won’t be a problem for any natives reading it, but it did take me a while to get used to the style of writing.
Overall, though it was a very enjoyable read and I am looking forward to reading more about Hunter and what is holding him back and can he, too have a happy ever after?!
