Drake Manning:
I’m one of the biggest movie stars in the world. I practically own Hollywood and can get away with damn near anything in this town. Cops who pull me over while I’m getting blown in my Ferrari don’t write tickets, they ask for autographs. My three closest friends and I call ourselves the Hollywood Bad Boys Club and we go through more women in a month than most guys do in a lifetime. I’ve never had a serious relationship and am determined to keep that streak intact. At this point in my life, the world is my oyster and nothing or nobody is going to slow me down.
Allie Winters:
Actors are shallow and egotistical, and I’m a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, for God’s sake. This cover story interview with Drake Manning is just another assignment and nothing to get excited about. Even if his fans have nicknamed him “The Body” because of his astounding physique, that won’t distract me from doing my job. Sure, I looked at a few half-naked pictures of that flawless body – but I was just doing research. Besides, Manning is not my type and I’m definitely not his, so there’s zero chance I’ll become another of his more than five hundred rumoured conquests. I’m too smart to ever fall for a man like Drake Manning.

My Thoughts:

Wow, that scene in the Ferrari at the beginning was like WHAT?!?! I thought well this is going to be one filthy book. I was sort of right, there were a lot of blush moments, but there was also a real story there too.
I really enjoyed this first instalment of the Hollywood Bad Boys Club which follows movie star, Drake Manning. He is a notorious womaniser and women are happy to let him treat them as he wants, which is mainly disposable. He then meets Allie, who doesn’t drop her knickers the moment she meets him, and it shifts something inside of Drake.
I loved Allie’s restraint, so often in these type of books, the woman gives in too quickly and lets go of her morals in an unrealistic fashion. Allie really holds out though, making the story feel more real whilst at the same time really ramping up the tension between the two characters. I did feel like she lost a bit of her personality towards the end, though, she completely overreacted. She knew what he was like and what he wanted out of life, and she should have remained cool and calm as she had been doing so well. Instead, she acted possessive and shrill! Surprisingly, she still gets her happily ever after. I didn’t think Drake could be tamed, but Allie certainly wove her magic over him.
The story really drew you in, and when I had to put the book down to get on with boring real-life stuff I was dying to get back into it and find out how it would end but also spend some more time with these really likeable characters!
